FreedomFilmFest08 extends deadline

When Opposition Knocks…

What’s that I hear? The kind people at FFF have decided to extend the deadline for submissions until the 14th April? Wonderful! That means YOU have two extra weeks to get that film proposal you have been sitting on all this time together.

With the elections now safely in the bag, submissions should be pouring in. The elections opened a whole can of worms of human rights issues; from free and fair elections, student democratic rights, race politics and discrimination, to gender equality and representation of women in parliament – attracting re-newed media attention for these issues. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg or should I say ‘wave’.

Also, the FFF08 roadshow team got back on track recently to promote the competition across the Klang Valley making scheduled pitstops at Sunway College, The One Academy, MMU, Taylor’s College and IACT with a series of Democratic Space workshops which include screenings of ‘Sepuluh Tahun Sebelum Merdeka’ and ‘She’s My Son’.

Next stop: a college near you. If you don’t have a workshop scheduled but desperately want one, please get in touch asap. It will be a real eye opener.

Go on. Give it a go. We dare you!
