The Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ) would like to congratulate news portal Malaysiakini.com for its new Tamil version. Malaysians across all races stand to benefit from this latest addition of independent and objective news source. It is hoped that the new Tamil site will further encourage the development and the demands for critical and objective news, being offered in English, Malay and Mandarin.
We would like to extend our best wishes to the Tamil site’s team headed by Ji Wi Kathaiah. We are sure with Kathaiah’s credential in heading /Semparuthi, /a monthly Tamil magazine on current issues, the new site will be the site to look out for for independent, fair and in-depth reportings on issues of interest to the Tamil community.
The Centre for Independent Journalism, Malaysia (CIJ) aspires for a society that is democratic, just and free, where all people enjoy free media and the freedom to express, seek, and impart information.
