The Asian-Pacific Resource & Research Centre for Women (ARROW) is a leading regional women’s NGO that advocates for women’s health and rights, especially sexual and reproductive health and rights. Working in partnership with women NGOs, our programme focuses on information and communication, research-based policy advocacy and NGO capacity-building in 13 countries. We are currently seeking to fill several positions and all posts will be based in ARROW’s office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
1. Programme Officer (Research, ICPD+15)
ICPD+15 is a monitoring, research and advocacy project spanning 10 countries in the region on the issue of women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights.
The suitable candidate must possess the following:
• Strong skills in research methodologies (both quantitative and qualitative)
• Able to use her research skills to guide partners’ research
•Carry out research coordination and analysis, and the ability to create knowledge products and materials based on this;
• Develop regional partnership and alliance building, and advocacy capacity building;
• Use log frames and other planning tools for strategic project implementation, as well as project monitoring and evaluation, which includes budget monitoring;
• Exhibit an in-depth understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights and women’s issues.
• A good command of the English Language (both spoken & written)
• A demonstrated commitment to furthering women’s empowerment
• Ability to work well in a team
• Able to commit at least 3 years to both the organization and the project
2. Programme Officer (Information & Documentation Centre)
ARROW’s IDC serves as a focal point of information for key researchers and NGOs in the region. The suitable candidate must possess the following:
• A good command of the English Language (both spoken & written)
• A flair for seeking information, sifting through information and repackaging information
• A good working knowledge of information technologies, is website savvy and is able to use technology as a principal channel for information
• A good understanding of how regional resource centers function
• An ability to strategically position ARROW as a regional resource center and manage its information resources
• A deep and abiding interest in women’s issues and sexual and reproductive health and rights issues
• A demonstrated commitment to furthering women’s empowerment
• Ability to work well in a team
• Able to commit at least 3-5 years to the organization
• Exhibit an in-depth understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights
3. Programme Officer (Women’s Health and Rights Advocacy Partnership/WHRAP – China)
The WHRAP-China project aims to facilitate capacity-building among partner women’s organisations in China for advocacy on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Strategies for the current phase of the project include partnership building and development, research and evidence-generation on Chinese women’s SRHR, information sharing and utilization, and networking among key Chinese SRHR stakeholders.
The Programme Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the project. Her tasks will include: coordinating with and facilitating the work and capacity-building of three national NGO partner organisations, facilitating SRHR information exchange between and among ARROW and relevant Chinese organisations, carry out relevant translation work whenever necessary, preparation of project reports and project planning, facilitation, monitoring and evaluation project activities. The suitable candidate must possess the following:
• Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights issues and a demonstrated commitment to furthering women’s empowerment
• Steep learning curve for understanding the Chinese socio-political landscape
• Experience relevant to the tasks of the post
• Ability to use log frames and other planning tools for strategic project implementation, as well as project monitoring and evaluation, which includes budget monitoring
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• An effective working style and ability to work both independently or within a team
• Strong commitment and motivation to work in a non-government organisation
• Able to commit at least 3 years to both the organization and the project
• Able to travel extensively
• Excellent and culturally sensitive English and Mandarin communication skills

4. Assistant Programme Officer (Publications & Marketing)
The main functions of this post would be to maintain the organisation’s database and provide support to the publications section. The suitable candidate must possess the following:
• A strong command of the English Language (both spoken & written)
• A flair for strategically seeking contacts
• An ability to revamp, update and manage the organisation’s database
• A deep and abiding interest in women’s issues and sexual and reproductive health and rights issues
• An ability to support event logistics and event planning
• A demonstrated commitment to furthering women’s empowerment
• Ability to work well in a team
• Able to commit at least 3-5 years to the organization
5. Assistant Programme Officer (Information & Documentation)
The main functions of this post would be to manage ARROW’s website for the purpose of information outreach. The suitable candidate must possess the following:
• A good command of the English Language (both spoken & written)
• A flair for seeking information, sifting through information and repackaging information
• A good working knowledge of information technologies, is website savvy and is able to use technology as a principal channel for information
• An ability to learn website technology and write/manage/update website content
• A deep and abiding interest in women’s issues and sexual and reproductive health and rights issues
• A demonstrated commitment to furthering women’s empowerment
• Ability to work well in a team
• Able to commit at least 3-5 years to the organization
A minimum of three years of experience in the respective areas mentioned above would be necessary for applicants in the Programme Officer category.

Dear sir/madam,
I am final year PhD student in Aberdeen university, UK. I am studying for health service utilisation for sexual health problems including HIV/AIDS by marginalised women specially female sex workers in Nepal.
Study was conducted with combined methods with 425 face to face interview for quantitative information then 15 in-depth interview for qualitative information,plus some participant observation were done while interviwed, like condom use disposal, availabilities, empower of women egotiation in parlor and massage centre and public area.
Regarding this thesis,my paper was accepted in world 17 AIDS conference in Mexico 2008 for presentation.
Similarly, i was awarded in havard university in 2007 for participate in workshop and had a discussion regarding ethical issue in this type of sensitive issue study and important of mixed method and also i had 2 weeks post graduate level international research training in Heidelburg Germany 2007.
Corrently, i am submitting thesis in near future in university and looking to appropriate job. So,i am very interested working for women area as i have 15 year expeirence in developing countries like Nepal as well as my qualification in this area. (Master in Public health and PhD also public health and sexual health) i am also registered Nurse in UK and stutas is British Asian citizinship.
