Seacem is a centre to support the use of electronic media technologies by Southeast Asian independent media and civil society organisations towards the development of civil society, press freedom, social justice and democracy. Our mission is to assist Southeast Asian independent media and civil society organisations to utilise electronic media technologies in their work by providing training, consultation and media solutions, as well as acting as a platform for regional cooperation.
For the 2008 Session, Seacem is organizing an E-Media Workshop in Malaysia targeted at the following groups:
*Independent e-Media Organizations*: News portal that covers socio-political news or analysis from alternative perspective
*Political Parties*: Political parties who have little access to mainstream media, and thus have to rely on the web and emails for disseminating information
*Civil Societies*: Civil societies that addresses the issue of governance, social justice and development matters via an online newsletter or online portal
*Socio-political Bloggers*: Bloggers in Malaysia who frequently covers political issues in Malaysia but wishes to enhance their outreach and upscale their current content framework.
Application is now opened to all Malaysia to apply for the training modules.The deadline for the application is *3rd February 2008. *The training workshop is fully funded by Free Voice of Netherlands, and the enrollment is free which is based on first come, first serve basis.

*Expected Workshop Outcome*
Participants will be able to develop an implementation plan upon the completion of the respective courses for the enhancement of the respective e-media, civil society portal or political blogs.
