With all due respect we refer to the above matter and regret to note that for the RM176.9 Billion (NST 8-9-2007 pg 2) 2008 budget proposal tabled in Parliament on 7.9.2007 by your goodself, no specific allocations have been made to make all 523 Tamil schools fully aided and for the 70% poor and hardcore poor Indians to come out of poverty.
We note that amongst others RM170 Million was allocated for the Orang Asli poor, RM380 Million for the Sarawak native poor, RM400 Million for Malay Muslims to acquire property and RM480 and RM12Billion respectively for the almost all Malay Muslims in Giat Mara, Industrial Training Institute (ILP) National Youth training Institute and to (largely) University Technology Mara to increase it’s student enrolment to 200, 000 by 2010 etc.
We hereby appeal that the budget be adjusted accordingly to include a RM990 Million allocation to make all 523 Tamil primary schools fully aided primary schools at least in conjunction with Malaysia having been independent for 50 years and to give effect to your goodselves declaration that “schooling will be totally free in Malaysia, says PM” (NST 8.9.2007 pg2) (which in effect excludes Tamil school pupils) and another 2 Billion (only about 1.2% of the total 2008 budget) to help the 70% poor and hardcore poor Indians out their state of poverty.
To this effect we would be presenting a protest note to your goodself at 2.00p.m on Wednesday, 12.9.2007 at Parliament House. Should your goodself not be available to receive this our protest note we kindly request that an UMNO Cabinet Minister be present to receive the same.
We apologise for any inconveniences incurred and mean no disrespect to your goodselves but are merely bringing this matter to your goodself as a last resort and in the general public interest.
