To whom it may concern.
I hereby apply for any suitable position. I am convinced that my qualifications and experience will satisfy the requirements of the position I am applying for. I assure you of a sincere commitment with strong interpersonal skills and work ethics, which will benefit your organization. I am a citizen of Canada and a native of Sri Lanka. I had my post graduate studies in the United States of America.
I graduated at a time when my native land was devastated by a tsunami. My knowledge urged me on and my focus was to be involved and gain experience, by being a part of the rescue and rehabilitation efforts. Sri Lanka also has a civil war due to terrorism for over two decades in the north and east. In these areas refugees need assistance to be relocated, counseled and given guidance. Hence I found employment in the organizations mentioned in my resume. My work entails me to visit the so called danger zones where we focus on human rights and security issues.
Having gained some experience and insight into the atrocities of human terror as well as the outcome of natural disasters, I am seeking to venture out and focus on children’s rights, where my passion lies. While a student in high school as well as in my years at university, the volunteer work gave me an insight in to diverse activities related to human behavior and needs, especially focusing on children and women. My studies in public health spur me on to help children as well as adults. My customer service skills are of benefit in dealing with people from all walks of life and being sensitive to their feelings while respecting their opinions. My attention to detail and ability to establish rapport at all levels will I am sure be an advantage if I were to be a member of a team in your organization.
I am fully prepared to undertake the responsibilities the position commands and assure you of much contribution as a team member. I am willing to learn and educate myself further. Enclosed is a copy of my resume for your perusal.
Thank you for your time,
Nileshi Goonesekera
