ANTI-WAR & ANTI-FTA DEMONSTRATION
US Embassy, Jln Tun Razak, KL

The Anti War Coalition comprising various political organisations and NGOs in Malaysia, is organising demonstration against the USA occupation of Iraq and the impending FTA. We will be handing over a Declaration detailed below.

Kuala Lumpur Anti-War Declaration, 18 March 2007

20 March, 2007 marks the fourth year of the U.S. military aggression on Iraq and the beginning of what is turning into the greatest 21st century crime of aggression perpetrated by a State.

The US aggression on Iraq has been proven to be illegal, unjustified and founded on lies. Today the people of Iraq are suffering from sectarian conflicts which have been provoked and caused by the continuing US occupation. According to the survey by respected medical journal the Lancet in October 2006, more than 650,000 Iraqis have been killed since the beginning of the war.

The so-called “war on terror” championed by the US and its allies should instead be called “war of terror” as they spread their terror across Iraq and around the world. The latest US plan of sending more troops to Iraq is doom to fail. The only way out is the full and unconditional withdrawal from Iraq.

The rush execution of Saddam Hussein is an attempt to cover up the many years of support by the US for Saddam Hussein when it was convenient to do so – when Iraq was fighting with Iran. The crimes perpetrated against Iraqis, Iranians and the Kurds were done not only with the full knowledge or approval of the US but also done with US-supplied weapons.

If Saddam Hussein had been given a fair trial, he would have implicated the US on his atrocities. The reality in Iraq reaffirms the imperialist ambition of the US to control the region and especially Iraqi oil by establishing its military bases and a pro-US proxy government. The total of the US’s military bases in other countries in 2005, according to official US sources, was 737.

Other than outright aggression, the US is also using Free Trade Agreements (FTA) as a backdoor way to invade and control developing countries through economic means. The FTA will only become a tool for the US to promote US interests and nothing else.

The continuing support of the US of the feudal dictatorship of Saudi Arabia and the apartheid Zionist regime of Israel, at the expense of the Palestinians, is also making the region unstable and violent. And now, the US is similarly making up excuses to attack Iran.

The liberation of Iraq from the US occupation and the accountability of the perpetrators are crucial to building global justice, the rule of law and a more equitable world. Their struggle is our struggle.

We condemn the continuing US occupation, the interference and manipulation in Iraqi politics, the use of torture, the lawlessness, the breakdown in public administration and social services, the deaths, the destruction, the attacks on civilians, and the absence of human rights standards in Iraq.

We support the legitimate right of the people of Iraq to resist the occupation by all means necessary.

We join the global anti-war movement today and demand:
1. the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of US forces from Iraq;
2. for the US to scrap its plan to attack Iran and guarantee Iran’s security;
3. the shutting down of all US overseas military bases;
4. that the US and its allies be held accountable for crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression and be prosecuted under international law;
5. for all countries especially major imperialist powers to reduce their arms;
6. the cessation of negotiation of the FTA between Malaysia and the US.

4 YEARS IS ENOUGH!
OUT OF IRAQ!
DON’T ATTACK IRAN!
STOP FTA!

    I don’t give a shit about your damnned journal.
    First and Foremost, your country is slightly avoiding National
    dept and trade deficit due to help of U.S.
    In your journal, U.S. is bad because they caouse world troubles and use FTA as their backdoor to prevent tragidic scenario. However, without U.S. your country can not survive in this world.

    Guess who did make the computer you’re using at the moment?

    Keep your point in yourself
